Terms of Use
These terms are the agreement between you and Global DJ Association ("GDJA", "we") for using globaldjassociation.com. By creating an account or using the site, you accept them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use GDJA
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- DJ accounts are for real DJs, remixers, producers and related artists, one account per person.
- Organisation accounts are for real clubs, event companies, festivals, agencies and promoters, registered by someone authorised to act for them.
2. Your account
- Give true, current information and keep it up to date. Use your own mobile number.
- Keep your password and one-time codes private. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else is using it.
3. Verification and your GDJA ID
- To become GDJA Verified (a Headliner), you add proof of your work and an identity document. Reviewers (GDJA administrators or office bearers of your city or state DJ union) check each item and award points. The current pass mark is 50 points with at least 2 kinds of proof and your ID accepted.
- New accounts must submit proof within 15 days and be verified within 20 days, or the account is paused until verification is complete.
- Verification means your documents and proof were checked when reviewed. It is not a guarantee of any particular performance, and it is not a government licence or certification.
- Your GDJA ID and ID card are issued to you personally and stay yours while you remain a member in good standing. They belong to GDJA and may be suspended or withdrawn under section 8.
- Fake or borrowed proof, someone else's identity document, or impersonating another DJ leads to rejection and a permanent ban, and we may report it to the authorities.
4. Your content
- You keep ownership of the photos, text, mixes and links you add. You give GDJA a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display them on the platform and in GDJA story cards and listings, for as long as they're on your account.
- Only upload content you have the right to share. Don't upload anything illegal, hateful, obscene, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- We may remove content that breaks these terms.
5. Bookings between clients and DJs
- GDJA helps clients find and contact DJs. Any booking, fee, payment, cancellation or dispute is between the client and the DJ (or organiser). GDJA is not a party to it and is not responsible for whether a gig happens or how it goes.
- Use booking enquiries only for genuine event requests. No spam, advertising or fake enquiries.
- DJ unions on GDJA can help members with disputes through the grievance process, but they can't force either side to pay or perform.
6. Reviews
- Crowd reviews can only be left by clients of real bookings made through GDJA, once per booking, after the event.
- Reviews must be honest and about the gig. No abuse, personal attacks, private information or paid or fake reviews.
- DJs may reply once in public and may report a review. DJs can't remove reviews; GDJA may hide reviews that break these rules. Asking friends or family to post fake reviews, or reviewing yourself, leads to suspension.
7. Membership and payments
- Registering, adding proof and getting reviewed are free. If a yearly membership fee applies, it's shown on the Membership page before you pay, and payments are processed by Razorpay.
- Membership fees are for the membership period shown and are not refundable once your membership card is active, except where the law requires a refund or we fail to provide the service.
8. Suspension and closing your account
- We may pause, suspend or close an account, withdraw a GDJA ID or remove content if these terms are broken, if the information given was false, or to protect other users. Where possible we'll tell you why, and you can reply through the grievance process.
- You can ask us to close your account at any time by writing to [email protected].
9. Acceptable use
Don't copy or scrape the directory or DJ data, send bulk messages to DJs, try to break into accounts or the site, get around verification, or use GDJA for anything illegal.
10. Our responsibility
- We work hard to keep GDJA accurate and available, but we provide it “as is” and can't promise it will always be error-free or online.
- To the extent Indian law allows, GDJA is not liable for indirect losses, lost bookings or lost income, or for anything that happens between clients, DJs and organisers. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under Indian law.
11. Changes, law and contact
- We may update these terms as GDJA grows. We'll change the date at the top and tell members about important changes before they apply.
- These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Ahmedabad, Gujarat have jurisdiction over any dispute.
- Questions or complaints: The GDJA office, [email protected].
